Domestic EV Charger Installation in Northampton

Having an EV charger at home makes charging your electric car much easier. Instead of relying on public charging points, you can simply plug in when you get home and charge overnight ready for the next day.

We install domestic EV chargers across Northampton, whether you need your charger fitted to an outside wall, in a garage or positioned close to your driveway.

Before we install anything, we look at your existing electrical installation, where you want the charger and how you use your vehicle. We can then recommend a suitable charging setup for your home rather than simply fitting the first charger available.

Our domestic EV charger installations can include the necessary electrical checks, cabling, protection and upgrades where required, with everything tested properly once the installation is complete.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Craig was helping us to install the new hob. It wasn’t an easy job as there were few small issues during the process and it took a bit longer time than expected. But overall we are very happy about the service and result.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Recently had the bathroom extraction upgraded with inline fans in the en-suite and main bathroom. Craig was great to deal with throughout — good communication, quick to reply and happy to answer questions clearly and professionally.

While he was here I also had some switches, ceiling downlights and fire detectors replaced. Everything was completed to a high standard, within the timeframe agreed and at the price quoted. The work areas were left tidy and everything was made good afterwards.

Craig also gave helpful advice on some future work I was considering, which was appreciated. Reliable, professional and straightforward to deal with. I’d happily use Precision Electrical Installations again and would definitely recommend.

Which EV Charger Is Right for Me?

There isn’t one EV charger that is right for everyone.

The best option depends on your electric vehicle, where the charger needs to go, how often you charge and the electrical supply available at your property.

Some drivers want a straightforward home charger for overnight charging, while others want smart charging features or a setup that works alongside their electricity tariff or solar panels.

For businesses, things can be different again. You may need multiple charging points, charging for staff and customers or a system that can manage several vehicles.

We’ll look at your requirements and recommend a suitable solution rather than trying to sell you something you don’t need.

Our Work

Commercial EV charger installation Northampton

Can My Home Have an EV Charger?

In most cases, yes, but your existing electrical installation needs to be assessed before installation.

We’ll check the relevant parts of your electrical system and make sure the proposed EV charger can be installed safely and correctly. If any upgrades are needed, we’ll explain what they are and why.

Because we’re qualified in EV charger design and installation, we can look at the complete installation rather than simply attaching a charger to your wall.

How Long Does EV Charger Installation Take?

Many straightforward domestic EV charger installations can be completed in a day, although this depends on the property, cable route and any electrical work required.

Commercial installations can vary considerably depending on the number of chargers and the existing electrical infrastructure.

We’ll explain what’s involved before the work starts so you know what to expect.
